REmoval of fixatorsIf pt is having an ORIF for pre-prosthetic fracture. IS removal of deep hardware from previous surgery reported separately? Initial surgery was 5 months ago.
Also, another scenario, if pt returning to OR to have external fixator removed with an ORIF, is removal of external fixator reported separately? I say no in both of these cases. But I AM new and am still trying to figure this all out. My co-worker says that when you check the CCI edits, there is no conflict and they can both be reported. ??
